5 Day Youth and Young Adult Horsemanship Clinics


Please call to schedule
Registration and full payment is required at least two weeks prior to Clinic Date and early registration (ASAP) is strongly encouraged!
Each Clinic is limited to 6 participants and spots are reserved on a first come, first serve basis.
Offered to Age Group of 8 to 18.
ADULT Clinics will be offered based on interest. Please contact me.

 
Fees:
With your Horse/Pony – $350 for the Full Week (Negative Coggins Test & record of vaccinations required before unloading.)
With School Horse/Pony - $500 for the Full Week
Payment is due in full two weeks prior to Clinic Date.
Payment is non-refundable unless opening can be filled, or with a Doctor’s or Vet’s excuse.

Fees Include
Stabling for your horse/pony. (Bring your own feed & hay, or you can purchase hay at $3. Per bale)
Or use of School Horse/Pony
Snacks & Drinks (Please pack your own lunch daily.)
Unmounted & Mounted Lessons Daily

Clinic Agenda & Schedule
Day One
8am-11am
Arrival of horses, ponies and riders and getting settled in.
Noon Orientation during lunch.
1pm-3pm Groundwork Lessons & Riding Lessons.
3pm-4pm Misc. Fun Time!
4-5pm Feeding and pick out stalls
5pm Head home and rest up for a fun week!
Day Two through Five
8am-9am Feed, Water and Clean stalls
9am-10am Groom and Tack-up
10am-11:30am Groundwork and/or Mounted Lesson
11:30 -12 Put horses away and give them lunch hay & water
12 to 1pm Lunch
1pm - 3pm Classroom Session (Some of the topics that will be covered are: Wrapping legs, Braiding, Trimming, Care of Tack, Sheath Cleaning, Barn Safety, Longing, Safe turn-out procedures, Bridle & Saddle Fit, Basic First Aid, Worming, Dental, Farrier & Vet care for the Horse, Feeding & Stable Safety. If you have a specific skill that you would like to learn, please contact me.)
3pm -5 pm Mounted Lessons, Games or Trail Rides
5pm to 6pm Feed & Water, Pick out Stalls and Head home!

Day 5 from 3:00-5:00PM is Demo Day

Transportation
Carpooling may be available. Please inquire
No child will be released to a non-family member without permission of the parent.

Supplies the Rider Needs to Bring
(label all items with the Rider's name)
Signed release forms and information form.
Bag Lunch, healthy snacks, drinks. (Snacks, drinks & bottled water will also be provided.)
Certified ASTM/SEI approved Helmets are required and/or provided.
Long pants, riding tights, jodphurs or breeches. (Required for all riding)
Hard-soled boot or shoe with a heel or preferably riding boots. (Required for all riding.)
Extra Shirt
Shorts
Tennis Shoes or Hiking Boots
Extra Socks
Bathing Suit and Towel
Warm clothes and rain gear (In case…it is Garrett County!)
Sunscreen and bug repellent
Hairbrush & Personal Items
Hard-soled boot or shoe with a heel or preferably riding boots. (Required for all riding.)
Notebook & Pen for Classroom Sessions
Journal to document Clinic experiences & memories!
Camera

Longe line & Whip
Grooming Kit

Water & Feed Buckets w/ Snaps.

Miscellaneous Information
No gum or tobacco is permitted.
Hair should be neatly braided or contained.
All required forms must be completed before clinic starts.
Use of Cell phones not permitted while riding or during Classes.
